We were very lucky that during ASW Allen Cotter (Parent & Member of Castlebridge FC) gave up his time to come into school and give a soccer training session to Rang 1&2. Bhain siad taitneamh as sin!
Sciath na Scol
Sciath na Scol is such a popular event for pupils in our school to participate in every year. Some years are more successful than others but each year we love to take part. Sciath na Scol not only promotes hurling, football and camogie skills but teamwork and sportsmanship in an atmosphere of fun and enjoyment.
Cork Primary Game
Comhghairdeas le hAisling agus Ned, Rang 6 as a bheith roghnaithe don bhfoireann camógaíochta agus iománaíochta Primary Game. We are very proud of you both and are looking forward to cheering you on.
Yoga with Lynda
As part of our Cineáltas Flag each class took part in a Yoga session with Lynda. We are so lucky to have a trained yoga teacher in our midst. Everyone really enjoyed their class with Lynda and felt very relaxed and appreciative afterwards.
What Club Are You In Survey?
Some members of Rang 5 completed a ‘What Club Are You In Survey?’ throughout the whole school. We were very interested to see the results and learn about all the exciting and interesting clubs in our locality. We were not surprised that our local GAA clubs hurling and football were the most popular within the school community. We were delighted to see that swimming was also very popular. Maith sibh Rang 5.
Active School Slogan
Well done to Amy Delea, Rang 5 for winning our Active School Slogan competition in November. There were so many creative slogans to choose from but Amy’s catchy slogan was chosen by the judges. It is now proudly displayed on our ASF noticeboard. Remember ‘Let’s Be Wise & Exercise.’
Meditation with Sharon
As part of our Active School Flag initiative we wanted to create new partnerships with the wider community. Sharon Lawton very generously volunteered her time to do some meditation with Rang 3, 4, 5&6. The pupils were delighted to take part and were really relaxed, refreshed and revived afterwards. Go raibh míle agat a Sharon.
Active School Flag Committee
Our Active School Flag Committee was set up in September and is made up of students from Rang 2 to Rang 6. The Committee members are enthusiastic, hardworking and motivating. They frequently speak to the rest of the school about various ASF activities and upcoming events. They help with Active breaks and show great leadership on yard. We are so proud of their hard work throughout the year. Maith sibh!
Climbing Wall Frame and Peg Board
We are delighted with the new addition of a small wall climbing frame and peg board in our infant yard. It would not have been possible without the help of our Parents’ Association . This gives great opportunity to our budding climbers to practise their moves. We are ‘Being Wise and Exercising’!
Orienteering in Fermoy Town Park
Rang 5 & 6 were delighted to take part in orienteering in Fermoy Town Park. An amazing day of outdoor adventures and best of all great fun!
